Should it be Rose or Beasley? 2008 NBA Mock Draft

The Bulls never thought they would get the top pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. They only had a slim 1.7% chance in the lottery due to their 33-49 W-L record but they managed to beat the odds. Now comes the hard part. Who will they choose for the number one spot? Memphis mercurial guard Derrick Rose or the high-scoring Michael Beasley of Kansas State? Black or White? Pork or Beef? It’s a great dilemma for a franchise who before the season started was pegged as a playoff contender but mysteriously sputtered along the way. They were spurned in the offseason by coach Mike D’Antoni who chose the Knicks’ job instead of handling a young core of Kirk Hinrich, Loul Deng, Ben Gordon, Joakim Noah and Tyrus Thomas. Now, they have a chance to get better. This year’s draft is not one of the most talented in recent years but has two players – Rose and Beasley – who have a chance to be “special”.

The NBA Draft Lottery: Who will win the Rose-Beasley sweepstakes?

Non-playoff teams now get their chance of improving their roster. The NBA Draft Lottery is set on May 20 (May 21 Wednesday Manila time) with the Miami Heat (15-67), Seattle Supersonics (20-62) and the Minnesota Timberwolves (22-60) – owners of the three worst records in the NBA getting 25%, 19.9% and 13.8% chances, respectively to gain the top pick. The prize? Well, either Memphis blazing guard 6-3 195-lb. Derrick Rose or Kansas State’s high-scoring forward 6-9 235 lb. Michael Beasley.

Chronicles of an NBA hopeful: Zachary Feinstein

You probably have not heard of Zachary Feinstein but in media circles he’s fast generating some buzz after declaring himself for the 2008 NBA Draft. You see not only is the Washington State University student a pint-sized 5’8″ 130 lbs., he also has zero basketball skills and last played organized ball in the third grade. One thing this guy has that you don’t have – he has great guts! – and if he is responsible for all this machinations, he’s an absolute genius!
