Well of course I’m gonna post Nike’s invite for everyone to phone LeBron.
8.8 seconds to go with the Championship firmly in Miami’s hands, LeBron James meets Kevin Durant in the middle of the court and they hug each other. This is in recognition of both players and teams’ great achievements. And even though one of them came ahead this year, it doesn’t take away from the others’ efforts. They are two great people who pushed each other to their highest performances and this hug is in recognition of that.
And really people, that is what this is all about.
What I’m about to say is gonna make me sound like a know it all, but the truth is, even when this guy was going hot, I was never really worried for Miami. And boy was he hot.
43 pts. off 20-32 shooting and playing 45 minutes? That is hot hot hot.
James makes 29 pts., 14 boards and 3 assists in 39 minutes. Good numbers any time of the year, but it’s the finals, so I’m thinking ‘only 3 assists??‘
My mind is on a bunch of different things right now, so I can only recall certain sections of the game, I hope I get it right. What comes to mind most of all are these:
That’s Bosh with an easy dunk off of a great dribble penetration by Wade, where he’s given a great pick by LeBron.
What I’m taking away most from this game is belief in OKC’s ability to ‘peak’ at the right moments.
I missed 2 posts but I seriously got busy these past two days, but they were for good reasons so its ok. I didn’t get to write though what I thought either MIA or BOS needed to do. Of course it’s all irrelevant now, as MIA has taken the Eastern Finals.
What I remember most about this game is this:
I’m afraid I only caught the very early and the very latter parts of this game because.. well it’s Saturday and I wanted us to wake up to a corned beef with eggs breakfast and so I was busy cooking so sue me.
Sometimes I wish I was one of those powerful bloggers / sports journalists in the US, because I would seriously call out LeBron James. I would ask things like, 2.9 seconds left with the game tied, ball in your hand against a smaller defender (Rondo). Why do you take a step back jumper from 17ft.?
