Yes I know I should be watching CSB vs. SSC-R right now, but I'm taking one of my occasional non-basketball time outs to check out Nike's new Federer commercial, in recognition of his mind boggling 15 Grand Slams.
15 Grand Slams, at only 27 years old is an unbelievable achievement in two ways, one in that you managed to do it per se, and the other in that at 27 years old, you've probably 3 or maybe 5 more years to up that even more.
And yes it has Woods, Williams and Jordan in it - so to those who might say it's too off topic. HA!
But dang.. 15 Grand Slams.. I've been repeating those words since I saw him do it a few days ago. It only hit home after he won.
For your viewing pleasure, here's another video featuring Bjorn Borg, Rod Laver, and Pete Sampras as well as, of course, John McEnroe interviewing them re Federrer's achievement. In that single frame, 4 people with about 50 Grand Slams to share amongst them. I grew up idolizing these, particularly Borg. It just sends shivers up my spine to see them all.
