The Magic Blew It

Gary Mercado May 13th, 2009 (Visited 658 times) Tags: , ,

The Boston Celtics has just beaten the Orlando Magic in Game 5 of their matchup for the Eastern Conference Finals, 88-92. The Magic blew leads of up to 14 points and allowed a 17-3 run in the final few minutes to let go of their chance to lead the series at home.

The Celtics will now have a chance to wrap up this series at Orlando to play for their 21st Conference Title against the resting Cleveland Cavaliers, who swept their own series against Atlanta.

The last few Magic possessions involved errant passes, near turnovers and a missed freethrow. The most telling of which was a confused inbounds play in the dying seconds with the ball ending up in Dwight Howard's hands who was promptly fouled. Howard is only .594 FTs for the season. The Celtics on the other hand, were perfect with their freethrows for the game.

No doubt, this is the pure definition of the phrase 'They Blew It'.
