To be honest I'm not entirely sold on 'lighter is better'. However, I've always believed that high - cut sneaks didn't necessarily protect you from ankle injuries like we assume it would. The fact is, if you lace your high - cut sneaks tight all the way up your ankles, you will lose mobility. It's like taping your whole foot + ankles. Try bending with that. Try even running at full speed with that. So what do you do? You lace them up, but not completely tight. Leave a little airspace so that you can retain mobility, right? But if you do that, what good then are high - cuts?
