I told you in my previous post that the PBA Online Store opened shop last March 7. Well, a curious fan like me thought I should give it a try and see if it’s real. I ordered the 2006-07 Hardcourt PBA Annual with James Yap on cover. This is the latest yearbook they have, which is quite disappointing because as a fan you would be expecting the 2007-08 season preview to guide you through the season like various media outfits are doing with their NBA previews.
The online store claimed it would take 2-5 business days to process local orders, depending on location. For international orders, shipping would take 2-6 weeks. I just got my order in 2 days. Not bad but if it took a little bit longer than that, I would be extremely disappointed considering Cebu is only an hour away from Manila.
The downside is that the currency is in dollars but you can pay in peso using mozcom payeasy. Just sign up at http://www.payeasy.ph/ and then fund your account using Globe G-Cash, Smart Money, MegaLink or BancNet or bank deposit. You can then proceed to the PBA online store, create an account, add to cart the items you intend to buy and checkout. The 2006-07 Hardcourt PBA Annual is priced at $8.75 (around 350 pesos based on the prevailing exchange rate), then add the cost of shipping ($3.7 or equivalent to around 150 pesos). I would wanted to purchase other editions of the PBA yearbook but they said they only had one back edition – the one with Eric Menk on cover.
Before PBA yearbooks and other PBA items were made available online, these could only be bought at the PBA office (Libis, QC) so if you’re a PBA item collector and want to add these items as part of your collection, then go ahead and make some orders.
