Channing Frye & Andre Igoudala Interview

I had a chance to interview 'the other' A.I. and New York Knick Channing Frye last Wednesday at a Holiday Inn PressCon. It was supposed to be an exclusive for PDI (where I write for), but it didn't turn out that way. All of us press were herded into a room where we had to elbow each other to interview them (and yes Chip along with your fave Quinito Henson, who was very nice btw :),.
Ok it wasn't that bad, but from a promised exclusive to a room full of jostling journalists it was very different from what I envisioned.
Here are some pics (sorry about my cheap phone cam):

Channing Frye was very nice, accomodating and friendly. Andre Igoudala spoke in a very low voice and so my recorder could hardly pick it out.
They're both very young, 21 and 22 I think, so it wasn't hard to get them to start laughing and joking. They were teammates in College at Arizona, and are here as part of the NBA Madness Tour. Incidentally there will be a 'meet and greet' session at Robinson's Galleria Fountain Area today, Friday July 21 at 5pm, along with the San Antonio Spurs dancers.
I asked questions to Channing about how it feels to be a Knick, and his game and conditioning. His parents were both from New York although he grew up in Arizona. Of course, Andre was asked if he'll join the Slam Dunk contest again next year, and he answere NO NO NO, and we all laughed, although I didn't get his reason why not. (darn recorder!)
I'll be posting more details about my interview and the article I'll be submitting on Basketball Exchange soon!

Haha! Quenito "AK" Henson? There's no doubt he'll be there for the press con.
Ill! You work for PDI huh? Are you the Gabriel H. Mercado for the Lifestyle section?

if i were to venture a guess as to why iguodala doesn't want to join the slam dunk contest next year, i think it has to do with a certain 5'11" teammate of frye

[...] Compared to the Andre Igoudala and Channing Frye event a few weeks back, this one was far better choreographed and much more enjoyable because of. I don’t really know if they got as much mileage as they would have wanted with those two when they came here, and I suspect it was just purely because it was badly organized and run. Pity. [...]
